The Rusty Cage is proud to have played a major role in producing the recent Project Skate video with Sky Brown for Google. Dubbed as a collaboration between two skateboarding and machine learning, the project uses Google’s latest Tensorflow and Blazepose technology to analyse the intricate movement of skateboarders in real time.

The three-minute video highlights the Google’s breakthrough technology and its application in real-world conditions.

Who is Sky Brown?

Sky Brown is a British professional skateboarder and surfer. She is known for being the youngest person to ever compete in a professional skateboarding event, as well as for her successful television and film career. Brown began skating at the age of two and by the age of nine, she had already won multiple national and international titles.

In 2021, Sky Brown made history by winning the bronze medal in the women’s park skateboarding event at the Tokyo Olympics.
