How Long is the Production Process?
Asking how long it takes to make a video is a lot like asking “How long is a piece of string?”. The amount of time that it will take to shoot, edit and produce your video will come down to the length and complexity of your project.
During your initial consultation, we will be able to provide you with a rough outline of timings, costs and the turnaround time that you can expect if we work together. We are upfront and provide a realistic breakdown based on your unique circumstances. Unlike other video production companies in Sydney, we won’t rush your project and we won’t promise an unrealistic TAT. Our team will work with you to create the best possible result within a workable time frame.
How Involved Do I Need to Be?
Not very! We are the experts at taking your idea and turning it into a reality. We will keep you in the loop and ensure that your vision matches up with the project that we are creating – but that doesn’t mean you’ll need to be in the director’s chair!
We encourage a free exchange of ideas and value your feedback during each step of the process. For us, it’s about creating a project that we can both be proud of. You will have access to our experience and know-how so that we can interpret and implement your ideas to create the best possible result.
Is There Anything I Can Do to Help the Process?
Preparing a short brief or a draft script can help us to get up to speed with what you are looking to achieve. We love turning ideas into a reality and find that a secure starting point is the best way to get your project moving in the right direction.
Can I Organise A Consultation?
Sadly, this means you will have to meet with David and Al (which can be a bit of a bore), but if you don’t mind then we would love to organise a Phone Call, Zoom Meeting, Facetime, or a good old fashioned face-to-face meeting to find out about your project.
During your initial consultation, we can workshop ideas and determine whether we will be the right fit for your project. If we feel like we can help, we will be happy to put together a proposal and quote. If we feel like we’re not the best fit, we will reach out to our network and put you in touch with someone that would be the right fit – it’s that simple!
Can You Offer Corporate Video Production?
Yes! Corporate video production is our bread and butter. We are proud to work with a wide range of corporate companies and global icons like Google. As a corporate video production company, we work extensively with our partners to deliver video content on tight turnarounds.
Can You Produce My Commercial or TV Show?
We sure can! If you have the vision, we have the writers, producers, camera crew, equipment and video production skills to tackle just about any project. Our talented team can take a simple idea and turn it into a full-scope TV series. Just ask Peter, who turned his dream of a dedicated Greek Travel Show into a reality with “My Greek Odyssey”.
Why Should I Spend Thousands of Dollars When I Could Shoot the Video Myself?
That’s the same logic that led The Rusty Cage Producer David Byrne to cutting his own hair when he was nineteen years old. The front was great, but it was the back where things really came unstuck.
Using the same logic, yes, you can definitely produce a video with your phone and some basic editing software. However, when it comes time to promote your video or distribute your corporate videos to key stakeholders – they are certainly going to notice the difference.
At The Rusty Cage, we create professional, studio-quality videos that will leave your customers and stakeholders with a lasting, positive impression.
How Much Does Video Production in Sydney Cost?
Again, asking how much video production Sydney costs is kind of like asking how much a holiday costs – it really depends on where you want to go! At the Rusty Cage, we will quote based on the project – not by the hour or by the number of revisions that are required. Charging by the project ends up being more cost effective for our clients and means that you can relax without having to worry about running over time or unexpected costs at the end of the project.
Are You The Cheapest Video Production Company in Sydney?
No, and you shouldn’t want us to be either! There are more than enough cheap video production companies in Sydney that will churn out your project on a shoestring budget – we are not one of them. We focus on creating quality projects that you will love and that we can be proud of. We’re committed to delivering high-quality video resources that will enhance your brand value and turn your vision into a reality. Working with us means that you will benefit from more than twenty years of industry experience.
Who Owns the Video Once It is Finished?
Once the video has been finished and your invoice has been paid, you will have complete ownership and copyright over the project. Unlike some other Sydney video production company, we will not charge a licensing fee for you to use the video! We believe that this sort of practice is a burden on the industry, and we would strongly recommend that you read the fine print before signing up for a project that does not grant you exclusive ownership and copyright at the conclusion.
In What Format Will I Receive the Video Files?
We will supply our finished videos in MP4 and MOV as standard. If you require the videos in other formats, just ask us! We can convert your video into just about any format that you require free of charge.
Will You Keep A Copy of My Video?
Yes. We keep back-ups of all client projects for a minimum of four years. If something happens to your copies or they are misplaced during this time, we will replace the free of charge. If you would like us to keep a backup of your video for more than four years, you can enquire about our archive services.
Will My Video Go Viral?
It depends! If we are making an instructional video about the correct way to hard boil an egg – then that could be a challenge. On the other hand, if we are creating a video with an original, fresh idea that happens to capture attention at just the right time – then there is a chance that it will go viral. Let’s be honest, Rebecca Black went viral singing about Friday, so it can be difficult to predict what is going to resonate and what will not.
